At Chicago Women in High-Performance Computing (CWHPC), we're on an exciting strategic journey to create collaborative hubs across Chicagoland universities, and we’re looking forward to seeing how you can be a part of this mission!
Aligned with our core values of fostering an inclusive and diverse tech community, we recently partnered with DePaul University's Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) chapter to host the Women in STEM event on October 30th, 2024.
The event welcomed around 60 participants and featured an incredible panel of distinguished women in computing and AI: Dr. Tanu Malik, Dr. Zhiling Lan, Diane Brown, Varuni Sastry.
Skillfully moderated by Paige Kinsley, the event included inspiring discussions on their career journeys and the transformative role of AI in their work. A lively Q&A session and networking opportunities allowed attendees to connect directly with the panelists.
Our chair, Ana Marija Sokovic, shared CWHPC’s initiatives in building an inclusive and supportive community for women in technology. Chicago WHPC also highlighted important statistics on the underrepresentation of women and minorities in high-performance computing, emphasizing the urgency to act and create a more inclusive landscape in the field.
This annual event underscores our commitment to empowering women in computing and highlights the importance of mentorship and inclusivity within STEM.
